The molecular structure of glyceryl monooleate (GMO) is like an ingenious “chemical building block”. It consists of two core components: a glycerol molecule (glycerol) as the “backbone” and an oleic acid molecule (octadecenoic acid) linked by an ester bond.

.The food industry is its primary application. Glyceryl monooleate improves food texture, freshness, and processing performance through a four-pronged mechanism: interfacial emulsification, starch complexation, crystallization regulation, and foam stabilization, while also possessing health benefits (containing essential fatty acids linoleic acid/linolenic acid).
.In the cosmetics industry, glyceryl monooleate is widely used as an emulsifier and emollient in creams, lotions, lipsticks, and other products. It helps oil and water components mix evenly, improving product stability and providing a smooth feel. Its good skin compatibility has been verified through multiple safety tests.
.In the pharmaceutical field, it can be used as a drug carrier or solubilizer to improve drug bioavailability and efficacy, and is commonly used in the preparation of creams, ointments, and other formulations.
.In industrial applications, glyceryl monooleate is used as a fabric finishing agent in the textile industry, as an internal antistatic agent in plastics processing (typically at a dosage of 0.5-2.0%), and also as a pigment grinding additive.
