QM-3740 Substrate Wetting Agent

Product Overview:

QM-3740 is an ethylene oxide adduct of acetylenol, possessing the widest versatility and best wetting properties, along with defoaming effects. It is widely used in water-based industrial paints, water-based wood coatings, pressure-sensitive adhesives, and water-based inks. QM-3740 significantly reduces dynamic surface tension, ensuring good safety in use. It is non-foaming and combines wetting, dispersing, defoaming, and leveling functions. Acetylene diol wetting agents have extremely low dynamic surface tension, while organic gangue wetting agents have very low static surface tension; generally, combining the two yields better results. QM-3740 also has pigment wetting properties; when used in combination with dispersants, it can accelerate grinding speed, promote color development and stability of pigments, and has a certain antifoaming effect.

Product Characteristics:

With an HLB value of 8, it significantly reduces the dynamic surface tension of the system, exhibiting excellent substrate wetting and anti-cratering capabilities;

It is foam-unstable, possessing certain defoaming and foam-suppressing effects;

It adjusts the hydrophilic-oleophilic balance of the system, improving the color development and storage stability of the coating, and preventing color floating and blooming;

It has low water sensitivity and excellent substrate and pigment wetting properties.

Application Systems:

As a substrate wetting agent, it is suitable for various water-based coatings and water-soluble coatings.

As a pigment wetting agent, it is suitable for the preparation of various water-based color pastes, added before grinding.

Recommended Dosage:

As a substrate wetting agent, its addition amount varies depending on the requirements, generally ranging from 0.1% to 1% of the total formulation.

As a pigment wetting agent, the general addition amount is 0.1% to 0.4% (of the total formulation) or 30% of the effective amount of the dispersant.

Packaging and Storage:

25kg/drum or 200kg/drum.

The product should be stored in a cool, ventilated place. Unopened, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of production.
