QM-2024 Dispersant
QM-2024 is a controlled flocculating dispersant that can be added before or after to control color floating and streaking, and also provides some anti-settling and anti-sagging effects. QM-2024 is also suitable for use in anticorrosive coatings, primers, low-polarity coating systems, and activated bentonite.

QM-2024 is a controlled flocculating dispersant that forms bridges between pigment particles through hydrogen bonding, providing anti-floating, anti-settling, and anti-sagging properties. It is suitable for medium-to-low polarity solvent-based coatings and solvent-free coatings, and is especially effective with activated organic bentonite.

Product Characteristics:
It exhibits excellent wetting and dispersion effects on pigments, forming hydrogen bonds in resin systems, resulting in thixotropy and providing anti-floating, anti-settling, and anti-sagging properties.
When pigments are mixed with other fillers, QM-2024 can effectively prevent the formation of hard lumps.
It does not affect the water resistance of the paint film and is suitable for anticorrosive primers. QM-2024 is particularly suitable for activating bentonite, giving it better anti-settling and anti-sagging functions.
Application Systems:
QM-2024 is suitable for low to medium polarity solvent-based and solvent-free coating systems. The lower the polarity, the stronger the thixotropic effect. It is suitable for systems such as air-drying alkyd resins, vinyl chloride copolymers, alkyd-amino resins, and epoxy systems, and is also suitable for activated bentonite. Caution should be exercised as it may cause discoloration in nitrocellulose and vinyl chloride copolymer systems, shorten the working time in ethyl acetate and epoxy systems, and cause gelation in unsaturated polyester systems. QM-2024 may develop slight turbidity or crystallization after prolonged storage, but this disappears upon heating and does not affect the final performance or the quality of pigment pastes and paint products.
Recommended Dosage:
Generally, the recommended dosage is 0.1-0.6% of the total formulation, or 0.5-3.0% of the inorganic pigments and fillers, or 20-50% of the bentonite content. It is recommended to add it before grinding, but it can also be added afterwards.
