QM-9006 Hammer Finish Additive

Product Overview:

QM-9006 is a silicone hammer finish additive used in water-based and solvent-based coating systems to provide excellent hammer or orange peel texture effects.

Physicochemical Parameters:

Appearance: Colorless transparent liquid

Product Characteristics:

It is usually added during the final dilution or color matching stage, taking care not to contaminate other products:

The spray viscosity after addition is typically 40-60S (T-4 cup). Too low a viscosity can easily cause the substrate to show through and pinholes;

QM-9006 should not be used simultaneously with leveling agents;

Low addition amounts result in a rougher pattern, while high addition amounts result in a finer pattern:

Different batches of hammer finish paint will have slightly different patterns, and even the same batch of product may show variations in pattern under different spraying conditions. This is normal. It is best to perform a test spray on each batch during paint production to adjust the uniformity of the pattern.

Application Systems:

Suitable for all solvent-based systems such as solvent-based aluminum powder paint, baking paint, and air-drying alkyd paint;

Also suitable for water-based and water-soluble coating systems, but QM-9766 water-based hammer texture additive will have better results.

Recommended Dosage: 

The amount added varies depending on the application system. For solvent-based coatings, the addition amount is generally 0.3% to 1.0% of the total amount; for water-based coatings, it is generally 2% to 4% of the total amount.

Packaging and Storage:

25kg/drum.

The product should be stored in a cool, ventilated place. Unopened, the shelf life is 24 months from the production date.
