Product Description:
Carbon cloth is typically made from PAN (polyacrylonitrile) as a raw material, woven and then subjected to high-temperature treatment.
W0S1011 carbon cloth produced by Taiwan Carbon Energy is a basic, raw carbon cloth. It is relatively hydrophilic and is generally used as a substrate for material growth or loading.
W1S1011 is a hydrophobic carbon cloth coated with a carbon powder layer (microporous layer/leveling layer/MPL) to improve the water vapor transmission performance of batteries.
If necessary, water-based carbon cloth can be modified to become hydrophilic using various methods, such as chemical or physical methods.
For hydrophilic treatment, a mixture of 10% nitric acid and 10% sulfuric acid (3% nitric acid: 1% sulfur) can be used. The soaking time can be adjusted according to the desired hydrophilicity. The treatment can be performed at room temperature.
W0S1011 carbon cloth is an untreated carbon cloth that is relatively hydrophilic. A microporous layer of MPL and PTFE is coated on the surface of the basic carbon cloth to enhance its air permeability. It is generally used as the air cathode of various fuel cells such as hydrogen fuel cells.

Product Features:
Taiwan Carbon Energy’s W-series conductive carbon cloth boasts excellent physical strength and uniform pore size, both of which are further enhanced by MPL coating. It is flexible and bendable 180 degrees. It is strong and resistant to breakage. While it may have frayed edges, it does not unravel after cutting. It also offers excellent conductivity, with a resistivity below 5 mΩ.cm².
