Dow ELVALOY 742 low temperature modifier for PVC plasticized wire and cable

Dow ELVALOY 742 is an ethylene-vinyl acetate-carbonyl terpolymer with high polarity and good compatibility with PVC. It is used as a PVC macromolecular plasticizer to reduce the migration of small molecule plasticizers and improve the long-term anti-aging ability of PVC.

Dow ELVALOY 742 parameters:

Fabrication Method: Cast Film, Compounding, Sheet/Cast Extrusion
Product Line: ELVALOY
Comonomers: CO, VA
Functionality: Compatibilizer
Density (ASTM D792): 1.020 g/cm³
Melting Point °C (°F): 45 (113) – ASTM D3417
Melting Index (g/10 min @ 190°C/21.6 kg): 35

Product Advantages:

Highly polar molecules offer good compatibility with PVC.
High molecular weight provides resistance to migration.
Can be used as a plasticizer for PVC.
Hardness around 55A.

Applications:

In soft PVC, it can be used as a permanent plasticizer and will not leach or migrate to the surface of the product during use.

In rigid PVC, it can be used as an impact modifier, improving plasticizing properties, widening the processing temperature window, facilitating filler dispersion, and enhancing surface color.

It significantly enhances the low-temperature performance, polarity, and chemical resistance of the blend.

It complies with European regulations for food contact use.

Storage: Store in accordance with good manufacturing practices. Store indoors in a cool, dry environment. Avoid direct sunlight or UV light.
