Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, chemically known as N-lauroyl-N-methylglycine sodium, is a widely used amino acid-based anionic surfactant. It is prepared by reacting lauric acid (dodecanoic acid) and sodium sarcosinate (N-methylglycine sodium), exhibiting properties similar to both fatty acid salts and alkyl sulfonates. This substance possesses excellent foaming, wetting, emulsifying, and biodegradable properties, and exhibits extremely low irritation to the skin and eyes.

Function

Cleaning Products: Widely used in shampoos, shower gels, facial cleansers, hand soaps, and dishwashing liquids as a primary surfactant or auxiliary foaming agent. It provides rich, fine foam with moderate cleaning power, leaving skin feeling refreshed and not tight after washing.

Oral Care: In toothpaste and mouthwash formulations, it not only foams and cleans but also effectively inhibits bacteria in the mouth that cause tooth decay and plaque (such as Streptococcus mutans), and its irritation to the oral mucosa is far lower than that of SLS.

Shaving Care: In shaving foams and creams, its excellent wetting and foaming properties soften beard hairs, reduce razor friction on the skin, and provide rust protection for the blades.

Hair Care: It adheres to the hair surface, forming a protective film that gives hair softness, smoothness, and shine, improving the feel of damaged hair.
