Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is a polymer of vinylpyrrolidone, which can be divided into soluble PVP and insoluble PVPP due to its different degree of polymerization. The relative molecular weight of soluble PVP is 8000~10000, which can be used as a precipitator.

Application:

1)Clarifier; Pigment stabilizer; Colloid stabilizer. It is mainly used for beer clarification and quality stability, and can also be used in combination with enzymes (protease) and protein adsorbent. It is also used as a stabilizer to clarify wine and prevent discoloration.

2)Thickener; Tablet filling agent; dispersant

3)Used as stationary liquid for gas chromatography

4)Disinfectants for medical, aquaculture and animal husbandry. It is used for disinfection of skin and mucous membrane.

5)In daily cosmetics, PVP and copolymers have good dispersibility and film forming property, and can be used as setting liquid, setting agent of hair spray and mousse, shading agent of hair conditioner, foam stabilizer of shampoo, wave setting agent, dispersant and affinity agent of hair dye. Adding PVP to cream, sunscreen and hair remover can enhance the wetting and lubricating effect.

6)It is used to absorb phenols and tannic acid from water extracts to purify plant enzymes.
