Marinic resin (422#)

Marinic resin is a product made by adding high-quality rosin to maleic anhydride and then esterifying it with glycerol.

Properties and Applications:

Marinic resin is a pale yellow to reddish-brown transparent solid. It is soluble in coal tar solvents, ester solvents, pine oil, and vegetable oils. It is partially soluble in petroleum-based solvents but insoluble in alcohol solvents. It has the best miscibility with nitrocellulose and is ideal for manufacturing spray paints. Because it does not yellow, it is suitable for manufacturing tinplate, varnishes, and various colored baking varnishes.
