QM-4748A Substrate Wetting Agent

Product Overview:

QM-4748A is a trisilane-structured substrate wetting agent. It offers the strongest reduction in surface tension among wetting agents of its class, thus providing excellent wetting ability and superior pore-penetration properties when used in water-based wood coatings. QM-4748A is also suitable for solvent-based coating systems, improving leveling and aiding in pigment wetting and polishing. QM-4748A is readily hydrolyzed and is recommended for use within a pH range of 6–8. QM-4748A offers exceptional value for money.

Product Characteristics:

It significantly reduces surface tension, enhances substrate wetting, and improves flow and leveling properties.

It does not increase surface smoothness. For higher surface smoothness, it is recommended to add an organosilicon leveling agent such as SN-4341.

It is sensitive to pH values ​​and is recommended for use in coating systems with a pH of 6-8, or in oil-based systems. In systems with high solvent content, the effectiveness of QM-4748A will decrease; QM-4333 or QM-4341 are recommended.

Adding it during pigment grinding improves pigment wetting, shortens grinding time, and enhances grinding results.

Suitable for water-based wood coatings, water-based industrial coatings, UV-cured coatings, inks, and other systems.

Recommended Dosage:

The typical dosage is 0.1% to 1% of the total formulation, and it can be added at any stage of production.

Packaging and Storage:

25kg/drum or 200kg/drum.

The product should be stored in a cool, ventilated place. Unopened, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of production.
