QM-9766 Water-based hammer finish additive

Product Overview:

QM-9766 is an orange peel/hammer finish additive specifically designed for water-based coatings. It achieves its effect by adjusting the uneven distribution of surface tension in the paint film. Used in water-based and water-soluble coating systems, it provides excellent orange peel or hammer finish effects. Adding it to metallic paints creates a hammer finish, while adding it to colored paints creates an orange peel effect.

Product Characteristics:

This is a pure water-based product, a solvent, odorless, non-toxic, and harmless, making it environmentally friendly and healthy.

It has a low price, requires only a small amount to achieve the desired effect, and has a low overall cost.

The resulting patterns have a strong three-dimensional effect, the formula is easy to prepare, and it has low requirements for application and the environment.

It has good storage stability; the patterns remain largely unchanged after storage.

SN-9766 can be used without affecting its effect after being frozen (-17°C) for one week or heated (60°C) for two weeks.

The product does not separate or precipitate, is easy to use, and does not deteriorate over a long period of time, with a shelf life of 1-2 years.

It is usually added during the final dilution or color adjustment stage. When using it, be careful not to contaminate other products.

Application Systems:

It is suitable for water-based and water-soluble coatings, as well as water-based two-component, one-component, and baking-type coating systems.

Recommended Dosage: 

Typically, adding 0.2-0.8% of the total formulation is sufficient to achieve a good hammered/orange peel effect. When using this product, care must be taken not to add leveling agents, substrate wetting agents, or other additives that reduce surface tension. Some commercially available color pastes contain pigment wetting agents, which may also affect the hammered/orange peel effect.

Packaging and Storage:

25kg/drum or 200kg/drum.

The product should be stored in a cool, ventilated place. Unopened, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of production.
