QM-T9350 Thixotropic Thickening Agent

Product Overview:

QM-T9350 is a specially processed montmorillonite clay thickener with a nanostructured lamellar structure. Upon swelling in water and polar solvents, it forms a house-of-cards structure, resulting in excellent thickening, thixotropic, anti-sagging, and anti-syneresis properties. It can be easily dispersed in aqueous systems using conventional high-speed dispersion equipment, making it convenient to use.

Product Characteristics:

Excellent anti-settling and anti-sagging properties, good thixotropic effect, suitable for emulsion and water-soluble systems;

Provides excellent color development for both organic and inorganic pigments, does not affect the water resistance of the system, and has a wide pH range of application (6.0-11.0);

Low dosage and high efficiency, can be added directly to the sand;

May cause haziness and turbidity in clear varnishes, requiring good dispersion, and is difficult to use as a post-additive.

Application Systems:

Used in water-based industrial coatings, it provides anti-brush mark and anti-blooming properties without affecting the electrophoretic paint’s penetration power; in cosmetics (creams, lotions, toothpaste, polishes, etc.), it increases lubricity, provides a smooth feel, and helps stabilize oil-in-water emulsions; in ceramic slurries, it improves the plasticity of the mixture; it can also be used in other textile coatings (carpet backings, curtains, awnings, decorative fabrics), printing inks, detergents, and polishes.

Recommended Dosage: 

In non-latex systems, the addition amount of QM-T9350 is 0.3% to 1% of the total formula weight; in latex systems, the dosage is half or all of the amount of the polymer/cellulose thickener it replaces. It is recommended to first prepare a 5-10% pre-gel with water, and disperse it at high speed for more than 15 minutes. It is also recommended to add a bactericide such as QM-B9750 to the pre-gel to ensure its shelf life.

Packaging and Storage:

25kg/drum or 200kg/drum.

The product should be stored in a cool, ventilated place. Unopened, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of production.
