Product Overview:
QM-T9350A is a specially processed montmorillonite clay thickener with a nanoscale lamellar structure. Upon swelling in water and polar solvents, it forms a house-of-cards structure, resulting in excellent thickening, thixotropic properties, anti-sagging, and anti-syneresis effects. It can be easily dispersed in aqueous systems using conventional high-speed dispersion equipment, making it convenient to use. QM-T9350A exhibits high thixotropy and is particularly suitable for formulating high-solids, low-viscosity water-based coatings.
Physicochemical Parameters:
Ingredients: Highly refined and processed montmorillonite clay
Appearance: Soft, off-white powder
Specific Gravity: 2.5 g/cm³
Moisture Content: 5-8%
Product Characteristics:
High thixotropy, especially suitable for high and low viscosity coatings, with excellent anti-settling and anti-sagging properties:
Small particle size, easy to disperse, high transparency, minimal impact on gloss, suitable for topcoats:
Good compatibility and stability in highly polar co-solvents, suitable for conventional water-based coatings and water-soluble coatings:
Lower viscosity at the same anti-sagging and anti-settling performance; better anti-sagging and anti-settling performance at the same viscosity:
Good thermal stability and a wide pH range of applicability; thickening is possible within the pH range of 5-12.
Application Systems:
Suitable for use in various water-based and water-soluble coating systems.
Recommended Dosage:
In non-latex systems, the addition amount of QM-T9350A is 0.3% to 1% of the total formula weight; in latex systems, the dosage is half or all of the amount of the polymer/cellulose thickener it replaces. It is recommended to first prepare a 10% pre-gel with water, and disperse it at high speed for more than 15 minutes. It is also recommended to add a bactericide such as QM-B9750 to the pre-gel to ensure its shelf life.
Packaging and Storage:
25kg/bag
The product should be stored in a cool, well-ventilated place. The shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture, provided the packaging remains unopened.
