QM-T9721A Water-based aluminum powder orientation agent

Product Overview:

QM-T9721A is a water-based EVA wax dispersion that improves the orientation of effect pigments such as pearlescent and aluminum pigments. Compared to polyurethane-based thickeners, this product is less sensitive to co-solvents in coating systems. It helps prevent settling of aluminum or pearlescent pigments and exhibits excellent anti-settling properties during storage and application.

Product Characteristics:

It can significantly improve the orientation of effect pigments such as aluminum powder and pearlescent pigments, and also helps prevent the settling of aluminum powder.

Compared with polyurethane-based thickeners, this product is less sensitive to co-solvents and is also suitable for water-based coatings.

Application Systems:

Suitable for water-based and water-soluble systems, such as water-based automotive paints, water-based 3C plastic paints, and water-based metal coatings. It has good compatibility with commonly used water-based resins and excellent versatility in water-based coating systems.

Recommended Dosage: 

It is generally recommended to add 2-5% based on the total formulation weight, or 50-200% based on the amount of aluminum powder or pearlescent pigment. The optimal addition amount should be selected according to different needs. After adding the effect pigment paste, add QM-9721 to the paint under low-shear stirring. Pre-dilution with water is not necessary. Since this product is acidic, QM-9721 will lower the pH value; therefore, it is recommended to adjust the pH of the coating system to 9.0-9.5 before adding QM-9721A.

Packaging and Storage:

25kg/drum or 200kg/drum.

The product should be stored in a cool, ventilated place. Unopened, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of production.
