2-(3,4-epoxycyclohexyl)ethyltrimethoxysilane is a silane coupling agent widely used and produced on a large scale in Western countries, and its trade name is A-186. It is a silane coupling agent prepared by hydrosilylation reaction catalyzed by 1-vinyl-3,4-epoxycyclohexane and trimethoxysilane in the presence of Speier catalyst or Karstedt catalyst.

Function

1. This product is an epoxy functional group coupling agent, providing stable storage and non-yellowing adhesion promotion. It is suitable as an adhesion promoter for polysulfide, polyurethane, epoxy, and acrylic sealants and adhesives, significantly improving the adhesion and water resistance of sealants and adhesives to inorganic materials such as glass, metal, and concrete.
2. This product can improve the adhesion between epoxy resin and substrate, and enhance the electrical properties of epoxy resin electronic materials, potting compounds, and printed circuit boards, especially their wet-state electrical properties.
3. As a surface treatment agent for inorganic fillers, this product is suitable for silica powder, glass microspheres, aluminum hydroxide, clay, talc, wollastonite, silica, quartz powder, metal powder, etc.
4. This product is used in water-based coatings such as acrylic and polyurethane coatings as an adhesion promoter and crosslinking agent, improving the coating’s adhesion strength, water resistance, abrasion resistance, and scrub resistance. Compared to KH-560, this product achieves a longer shelf life in water-based resins.
