PBTCA has a low phosphorus content. Due to its structural characteristics of phosphonic acid and carboxylic acid, it exhibits excellent scale inhibition and corrosion inhibition properties, superior to commonly used organic phosphonic acids, especially at high temperatures. It also improves zinc solubility, has good resistance to chlorine oxidation, and demonstrates good synergistic effects in compound formulations. It has a wide range of applications and superior performance in high-efficiency scale and corrosion inhibitor formulations, and is also an excellent stabilizer for zinc salts.
PBTCA is widely used for corrosion and scale inhibition in circulating cooling water systems and oilfield water injection systems. It is particularly suitable for compounding with zinc salts and copolymers, and can be used in high-temperature, high-hardness, high-alkali applications requiring high concentration ratios. In the detergent industry, it can be used as a chelating agent and metal cleaning agent.
