In daily chemical detergents, laurylbenzene sulfonic acid (LAS) is primarily used. LAS possesses excellent detergency, foaming, and emulsifying abilities, and is inexpensive, making it a core active ingredient in laundry detergents, dishwashing liquids, shampoos, and bath liquids.
Emulsifiers and Dispersants: Widely used in the preparation of pesticide emulsifiable concentrates, emulsion polymerization (such as styrene-butadiene latex), dyes, and coatings, acting as emulsifiers, stabilizers, and dispersants.
Antistatic Agents: Used in plastics, fibers, and other materials; their hygroscopic properties allow them to form a conductive film on the surface, preventing static electricity buildup that could cause fires or attract dust.
Metalworking: Used as a degreasing agent in metal electroplating and cleaning, effectively removing oil and rust from metal surfaces and ensuring coating quality.
Other Applications: Used as a resin dispersant in the paper industry, a penetrant in the leather industry, and an air-entraining agent in the cement industry.
