Polybutylene succinate (PBS) is an important biodegradable polymer, produced by polycondensation of the aliphatic diol 1,4-butanediol (BDO) and the aliphatic dicarboxylic acid 1,4-succinic acid (SA). It is a novel, fully biodegradable polymer material.
