Applications: Suitable for electrolyte membranes in fuel cells, vanadium batteries, electrolyzers, electrodialysis, and electrochemical sensors.

3. Pretreatment Method (Recommended)

DuPont Tip: N117 membrane can be pretreated before use. The specific method is as follows:

First, treat with 5% hydrogen peroxide at 80°C for 1 hour, then soak in deionized water for half an hour; then boil in 5% dilute sulfuric acid (by weight) at 80°C for 1 hour; and finally soak in deionized water for half an hour.

Alternatively, depending on user preference, it is possible to simply soak in the electrolyte solution before use.

The NRE211 and NRE212 are primarily used in hydrogen and air proton exchange membrane fuel cells, minimizing ohmic losses.

The NR117 and NRE115 are primarily used in direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) and water electrolysis applications.

These membranes can all be used in H-type electrolyzers, separating the anode and cathode compartments of proton exchange membrane fuel cells and water electrolyzers. They function as both a diaphragm and a cation-conducting solid electrolyte, selectively transporting cations to the cell junction.
