Copper peptide (GHK-Cu) is a compound formed by the complexation of copper ions and tripeptide-1. The copper ions in it can promote repair, while tripeptide-1 (GHK), as a signal peptide, can promote the synthesis of skin matrix. The composition of GHK-Cu is: glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine-copper. The copper ion Cu2+ is not yellow like copper metal, but rather appears blue in aqueous solution; therefore, GHK-Cu is also known as blue copper peptide.
